The Jonesen Team is great at building beautiful and intuitive websites, it’s what we love to do.  What we are not great at (or qualified for) is giving out legal advice.  If you have questions about the privacy policy, we recommend contacting your attorney for more information.

Your E- Commerce website is required by law to have a privacy policy available for your users to view.  And while it is really easy to get lost in the maze of legal jargon when dealing with these policies, there are essentially two questions a good policy should answer.

  1. What information is being collected?
  2. How is this information being used?

The answers to these questions are pretty straight forward.  Your E- Commerce website will be collecting basic contact information such as name, email, phone number, address as well as general user activity tracking.  Since you have set up Stripe and Paypal as payment gateways, their privacy policies cover payment information entered by the customer.

The information collected will be used for the use of the website owner, and will not be sold to third parties.

With the knowledge of what information your site will be collecting and its use, you can easily craft a custom privacy policy online.  One resource we have recommended to clients in the past can be found over on the Better Business Bureau’s site , but there are no shortage of resources available for generating this important legal document for your site.

We have a passion for helping other small businesses, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’d love to chat and see how we can work together to increase your online presence.
